It’s a pedal-powered railbike experience offered by the Golden Gate Railroad Museum, running on historic Northwestern Pacific Railroad tracks north of Cloverdale, CA.
The tour covers approximately 6 miles round-trip and includes a 15 to 20 -minute break at the turnaround point overlooking the Russian River.
Rides last about 2 hours in total, including the turnaround stop.
They move at a leisurely pace of about 10 miles per hour, making for a relaxing and enjoyable ride.

Each railbike seats up to four passengers and we have capacity for up to 30 riders per trip.
Rides operate on weekends—typically Saturdays and Sundays—with departures at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m.
Reservations are recommended due to limited availability. Bookings can be made online via the Russian River Railbikes website: www.russianriverrailbikes.org
There are no height restrictions, and the rides are considered suitable for all ages.
Children aged 2 and under must ride in a car seat, which must be brought.
Small dogs are allowed, for larger dogs give us a call. May be possible.
At least one rider per railbike must be 18 years or older.
You'll pedal past a vineyard, go through a tunnel, travel under a cemetery, cross a bridge, travel through a forested area and enjoy views of the Russian River and walk to a collapsed tunnel.
Yes—the ride includes volunteer guides who help with safety and course guidance.
Tours run weather permitting. Cancellations may happen because of rain, heat or for safety reasons, so check ahead on your ride day.
Helmets are required. Guides carry first-aid kits and two-way radios to ensure safety and coordination.
Pedaling is mild to moderate—most riders find it easy, though those less mobile can ride and relax while others pedal.
Riders can bring their own refreshments. Onsite snacks and picnic tables, with umbrellas, are at the turnaround point.
